Meet The Team

We are a dedicated team which strives to provide success to our clients in regards to all their accountancy needs. Our team is very close-knit and ensures that a unified support is provided to you whenever you need it. With expertise covering all aspects of accountancy, taxation and business advisory services, we are well placed to take a holistic view to planning for the future as well dealing with specific matters.

Angela Eden FMAAT, ATT (Fellow) – Director

Angela has spent over 30 years working within a finance environment. She started with Shell in their banking division soon after leaving school, in several junior finance positions working up to Foreign Payments Clerk. She then took ‘time out’ to have a family, and during that time started studying book-keeping and accounts.

After six years she managed to get back into the job market and worked locally for one of Shell’s subsidiaries, as Senior Cashier and then Fixed Asset Controller, following that as Assistant Bursar in a Surrey Secondary School for 6 years looking after all their book-keeping and introducing computerised accounts.

She joined Jackson-Scott Associates in 1999. She became a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in 1999 having studied at evening school for two years, and was awarded Fellow Membership status in 2006. During this time she also studied Taxation and became a member of the Association of Tax Technicians in 2004 and was granted a Fellowship in 2018.

Angela now specialises in UK tax while overseeing Limited Company and Sole Trader accounts.

Ian Cawley – Director

Ian has worked in finance almost exclusively, barring a short stint in software support, since leaving college. He had 2 spells at multi-national companies (Unichem PLC & Bestfoods) before joining a small, local accountancy practice in 2001.

Following the closure of that Ian joined Jackson-Scott Associates, working at the Ewell office, as senior accounts assistant in 2008.

Ian soon became a valued member of staff with his knowledge of tax and accounting systems. He became a director in 2012 and has taken on the role of overseeing the introduction of cloud-based accounting systems into the practice and guiding clients through the new process.

With the onset of Making Tax Digital his knowledge of these systems is invaluable.

Sue Towner – Director

Sue will admit to having celebrated her 60th birthday, but will not say when it was! What she will admit is that she has spent most of her working life in accounts, moving up from office junior to become the Assistant Financial Accountant of a large supermarket chain. When the company’s head office moved from London to Essex she decided not to emigrate with it and, after some intensive studying, started her first practice.

After several moves and changes in personal circumstances, she started this practice from her home in 1989, when she first moved to Surrey, moving in to the office premises in Gilders Road in March 1998.

Although she has taken time out to try other careers (she ran a junk shop and seems to have kept most of it and was a publican for three years) she is happiest working with accounts. Looking after clients from many professions gives plenty of variety to our work and she can honestly say accountancy is not boring!

As the practice grew, it needed more expertise and Sue is really pleased to have Angela and Ian as her co-directors. We have a small, skilled and friendly team in our office with other professional help available through our network of clients and associates. We feel we offer a unique accountancy service and help fill the gap left by larger practices.

Paul Worwood MAAT – Accounts assistant

Paul is responsible for the preparation of accounts, VAT and tax returns, and it will be Jaime or Paul who will be in contact if you there are any queries in those initial stages.

Paul has been with JSA since 2006 and has qualified as a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in that period.  He has good knowledge of various software accounting packages such as Xero, FreeAgent and QuickBooks.
